Our Story

Two brothers. Zero gardening credentials. One very stubborn tomato plant.

We're brothers, we both work full-time jobs, and neither of us would call ourselves gardeners. What we do have is a garage, a handful of stubborn kids who like planting things more than we expected, and a pretty good sense of what it feels like to buy a seed packet, follow the instructions on the back, and still somehow end up with nothing.

That gap -- between "the instructions" and "what actually happens on your kitchen windowsill" -- is what The Grow Society is built to close. Not with more expertise (we don't have much more than you do), but with better defaults: seeds picked for how forgiving they are, timing matched to when it's actually time to plant where you live, and a promise that if it doesn't come up, we'll just send you another one.

We started this as a side project, packed out of our own garage with help from family on the weekends. If you join early, you're not joining a polished company -- you're joining us while we're still figuring it out, in real time, right alongside you.

"We killed a cactus once. A cactus. That's basically our qualification for starting this." — one of the founders, probably

What we believe

  • Beginners don't need more information -- they need better defaults.
  • Failing at a $2 seed packet should feel like nothing. It usually feels like everything. We're fixing that.
  • Growing something with your kids is worth more than growing something perfectly.
  • A club works better than a store when the goal is confidence, not just a transaction.

Come fail with us -- and then succeed with us.
